Description

Turn your negative thoughts about content marketing on its head and find a fresh approach in this one-day getaway. I am planning a day of processes and ideas… that you will actually do, actually like and will actually generate results you can measure.

For 8 years (and 7 content strategy workshops) I have been telling you content marketing is a requirement for success. That has not changed. It’s not going to change. Content is still QUEEN. And you rule the empire! Or you could. 😉

What HAS changed are the best strategies to use your good content to yield great results. These online strategies work for online AND brick & mortar/traditional business needs.

With these (technology) changes, it is easier, cheaper and more effective than ever before now to get measurable results from your time spent with online marketing and purposeful content creation.

Easier doesn’t mean it’s not work. It is! It is an effort to push yourself up the learning curve, but once you do, you’ll be able to repeat the custom built content strategies I will teach you.

Implemented just a few times, a great content marketing strategy can significantly boost your business. Use this time to do one (or some) of the following:

build a content flow

SMALL GROUP means more hands-on support. Only 20 spaces available.

And in one day you’ll get the push … and process with time to put it together … that you need!

In this mountain retreat and workshop you will:

  • Learn and understand the biggest shifts in content marketing in the last year… and, actually, the last 3 months that you can capitalize on with ease!
  • Craft 3 key stories/ideas that you will link to marketing outcome – like grow your list, fill a program, test a new revenue stream, etc. (Actually, pre-work will be sent for keeners wanting a head start)
  • Turn at least 1 story into a full set of content for a campaign you can implement immediately.
  • Discover a multimedia mix (written, audio, video, live stream, email campaign, other) that works for you. You don’t have to do “it all”, you have to do what works for you and your audience… you’ll figure this out at the workshop.
  • Learn why Facebook advertising is a blessing not an evil (and how to affordably make it part of your regular strategy).
  • Discover a Facebook ad secret to get more for your dollar than the simple boosted post. Please STOP hitting that button.
  • Build one set of Facebook ads (in draft – you’ll want to play with design after) to support your campaign at only $5 (or less) a day.

SEO is not dead and regular blogging still is magical for long-term growth. But now, let’s get real. If you haven’t taken that “write a blog every week” approach yet, you aren’t going to start now.

So let me shift your gears to a purposeful, ROI approach to boost your business several times a year that you WILL do.

Specifically, the one thing you will get out of this one done-in-a-day retreat:

I’m going to help you stop wasting time and money and figure out how to earn more, doing less. Sound perfect? I think so too!

Included:
  • 7.5 hours of training and time to build an end-to-end, ready-to-launch campaign to meet a specific goal you will set
  • Delicious, healthy catered lunch
  • Snacks and beverages
Not included in fee, but yours to consider:
  • Group dinner out Saturday after the workshop will be arranged for those staying
  • Stay over in Canmore (we will tell you where we are staying soon)
  • Sunday quiet (group or solo) time for writing & hike or outdoor activity may be arranged if interest (TBD)

Raving Fans of Past Retreats Say…

Kim’s Blogging for Business course was exactly the push I needed to get my blog rolling along. Not only did she provide the tools to plan what I would write about, she made it fun to get there. Blogging no longer seems like a chore, it now has purpose, meaning and a definite positive effect on my business. This retreat is money well spent. Thank you Kim! Dana Goldstein, Chicflicks Video (http://www.chicflicks.ca)

I used to hate blogging because, even though I knew it was important, coming up with content felt like a chore. Kim’s Blog for Business video course was a godsend. I signed up hoping for just a tip or two to help me get over the pain of blogging once every few months (because that’s as frequently as I could stand it). Imagine my jaw-dropping surprise when I completed the program actually PUMPED to blog… and armed with 52 weeks of juicy topics, all scheduled and ready to write about! Kim makes it easy to understand and then sweetens the pot with quick challenges that show you immediate results. I can’t stop telling people to sign up and see the light! Nikki Jackson, Brand Steward, Fetching Finn Inc. (http://www.fetchingfinn.com)

Kim delivers her invaluable training on blogging with an honest, frank and sincere tone. She wants you to succeed – period. She knows firsthand that blogging is a fundamental and foundational business tool and makes it easy – dare I say even fun and inspiring – to blog for yourself. After watching her videos and doing her exercises, I immediately wrote four blog articles that I’m proud of and excited to share with the world (in fact, I haven’t stopped writing weekly since). Kim’s blogging course is an absolute must have for savvy small business owners wanting to start blogging or take blogging for business to another entire level. Nadine Nicholson, CEO, Nadine Nicholson & Co. (http://www.nadinenicholson.com)

If you are on the fence – DON’T BE! Sign up and you won’t be disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed the retreat and I am a super newbie content creator. But I am now a believer! 2 of my posts in particular have yielded new clients and they have also moved Devour Catering Calgary to page one of our keyword search. I was a cynic. Just do it! Seriously. J’Val Shuster, Owner, Devour Catering (http://www.devourcatering.com)

The course blended together the right amount of expert information with personal application. Thank you Kim for the individual help with blog content and editorial calendars! The retreat was invaluable for helping me blog for my business! Kirsten Wreggitt, Bloomscript (http://www.bloomscript.com)

I walked away from this workshop inspired and with take away actions. It was well worth my time! Laurie McGowan, Owner, Adventures of Little (http://www.adventuresoflittle.com)

I learned lots & while I know I have work ahead, it is also manageable work. I loved having a year-long plan that related to several magazines’ editorial content. Having a hands on event was great so that I could meet other bloggers (and potential guest bloggers). Thank you Kim!
Dr. Josephene Juell, Elan Family Wellness (http://www.elanfamilywellness.com)

I’ve always wanted to try blogging and sharing my ‘content’ as a way to promote my business but I could never figure out how to get started. After attending Kim’s workshops I knew exactly what to do and I left with the plan for a year’s worth of blogs. What a timesaver! I’ve come to really appreciate business training that gives space to practically implement what I’m learning. It’s fine to learn new ways of doing things but without exercises that get you to take what you’ve learned and apply it to your company, you run the risk of getting overwhelmed and never implementing your new skills. This didn’t happen with Kim. She made sure we all applied what we learned before we left. It was just what I needed to get going and keep going. Dana da Ponte (http://www.danadaponte.com)
